So as many of you know. The first weekend I had my 15-22 the J pin in the hammer sheered off and after an email to S&W there was a replacement hammer on its way to me.
I replaced the hammer already wih a DPMS hammer since I heard that the S&W hammers are prone to break in the same way. Somewhat of a known issue I guess.
Anyway, I received the hammer today with a new set of pins and was surprised to find that this hammer doesn't even have the I pin in it and the pins are exactly the same as what I have currently.
Is this expected and is the .22 low enough recoil that the pins shouldn't try to drift? Needless to say I left the DPMS hammer and original pins. I'm just curious if I got the standard issue part or they sent me a bum part.
Here's a pic for anyone interested.
