I saw in another thread "Stolen Valor" several persons had lost their military records. Instead of adding this to that thread I thought I would help out those needing their records. You can also apply for you relative's records and replacement medals. Your spouse and children can also apply for a copy of your records and/or medals. The medals will include ribbons and medals if available. Now the fine line as for price "IT'S FREE"

I just went through the process in order to "buy back" my military time for my Federal retirement. Time consuming but not bad. What took time was computing pay records and how much I owed for my pension (that took a couple of months). Getting my DD 214 was pretty quick.

If you work for the Feds, it is well worth it to get this taken care of. Your pension will be greater and you can retire earlier (This moves my "20" up a little and increases my pension by a few dollars a month).

Yep. I got my four years of school credited to my civil service time and allowed me to retire after 16 years with a 20 year retirement.

Id like to get replacements for my dads earned medals-which were stolen about 1995 from the house. I also wonder if i can get repllacement stuff for my Uncles: Billy (U.,S.N. Commander in WWII) and Herbert-U.S. Army--WWII, ad maybe my Uncle Bud-who was allegedly in the 101st and supposedly served in Bastogne.
