I've seen posts saying it has been done, but I would prefer to send it to S&W to have it done if I choose to do it. I have a 6906 and a 5903. Both are mint condition. The size isn't much different, but the one thing I like is the ability to cock the hammer on the 5903. Will S&W replace the hammer for me? I know a spurless hammer is generally a better thing for a CCW, but I just want to know if this is an option.

kbm: Yes S&W will, but it is a really easy job. Why don't you get a detailed dis-assembly/assembly printout and do it yourself? Get the hammer from Brownell's. Their product no. is: 940-000-341; Hammer, Blued. Their listing does not say specifically this hammer will fit your 6906, but it will. I just changed my bobbed original hammer on my 3913 with an eared hammer marked "5906". ......... Big Cholla
