Hi all,
Winter in Northern NY means time spent indoors thinking of stuff to do to prevent going stir crazy.
I did a bit of a trigger job on my 15-22. Pulled the trigger group out, cleaned lower, cleaned trigger group...lots of dust and grit...and used my Lansky fine diamond hone to polish two trigger surfaces. I was careful and took my time to keep the stock angles...just polished the surfaces.
Wow what a difference. I don't have a trigger gauge so I've no idea what the pull was at the start or now but it is much smoother than before. I can really feel the difference as the trigger is pulled...very smooth action and a nice, crisp pull.
It was time well spent and I'm considering replacing the springs with the yellow spring kit.

Now I also pulled the pin locking the stock. It was easier than I thought...just used a drill bit and as it went in the pin I started pulling the drill/bit out while it was turning at a slow speed. It came right out.
I want to replace the stock with a Magpul just to have a more ergo stock plate...the stock stock hehehe is too short and the flat/straight profile is does not fit the shoulder as well as it should/could.

However I will want to pin the stock in place so it is legal and compliant with current law.
I'd appreciate any tips and/or suggestions on how you pinned your replacement stock...those of you that have to have a fixed stock.
Thanks

Drill hole, insert new pin.

Drill hole, insert screw, grind off head of screw.

Take your choice - takes under a minute, either way.

I personally would use a small hobby grub screw this way if you ever need to make an adjustment later it can be undone, and it will look just like a roll pin. JMO

I re-pinned mine with 4-40 thread set screw which is approx. 1/4 inch in length. Looks like a pin but can be remove with very small allen key at some point when I want to change out the stock down the road.
