Two days ago I received a 617-1 Target Champion that I bought in an online auction. It is a beautifully crafted weapon from German S&W manufacturer Wischo, which makes it even more of a shame that the previous owner has abused the revolver by prying the side plate open and skidded all around it with a screwdriver!
The auction text read exactly this: "Like new, in factory box".
I sent these pictures to the firm that sold the gun and got the response that they "do not go through each gun with a looking glass and 'like new' does not mean 'new'". Guess I'm on my own here.
What can I do to restore this once beautiful gun? I guess I can use a fine needle file on the bad edges of the side plate, but the scratches on the glass bead blasted surface can't be remedied without a new blasting.
