No reason you can't use that revolver if you have already bought it. It will be slower than a moon clipped gun but it depends on what you want out of IPSC. If you want to just have fun or if you want to win every match.
Another option is to have the 686SSR cut for moonclips from a competent gunsmith.
As far 'better' guns for the sport, the 625 or the 8-shot 627 would be more advantageous.

Yep, he's right. I was thinking ICORE. You can use the 627 in IPSC but need to only fire 6rnds before reloading. Since the gun is still in the USA and you can exchange it, I'd go with the 625.

Thank you very much.As APS says depend of I want out, okey by the moment i am not going to be a champion so i am going to use my new gun just for a good practice.Sorry but i am going to make use of your patience, which are the best speedloaders for this gun?

I'd go with Safariland Comp III or Jetloaders

I have used and recommend the CompIIIs as well. I also understand that the Jetloaders are popular but I haven't used them so can't comment.

Anybody use the Dade speed Loaders?

trigtechr

shoot first, fast, straight and last ..

For competition the Safariland Comp III loaders are excellent, I have used them for years and can't ever remember having one fail despite many thousands of reloads.

Ibon,

I use to shoot a CZ pistol in USPSA (American IPSC) and switched to revolver. I already had a 686 and wanted to use moonclips. I had a gunsmith mill the cylinder to use with moonclips. It works pretty good.

I have used 38 special, but now shoot 38 Short Colt for faster reloads. I reload the 38 Short Colt similiar to 9 mm lugar. I use Starline Brass and Hearthco moonclips.

Do you plan to shoot major or minor power factor?

I'm pretty sure there is at least one American shooter who has classified GM in Revolver using a 627, moonclips, Minor PF and by counting to six before reloading. It can be done.

I will applaud anybody who uses Major PF and speedloaders with the .357 Magnum cartridge.

Holster for 686ssr

Anyone which compites with this gun could say to me about a good holster for it,and good individual pouches for safariland comp3?

best regards
