Is there a range bag out there that works better for revolvers? Looking to spend up to $100.00. Have a variety of frame sizes. Any suggestions on what you use, what works, or doesn't work would be helpful.

Thanks,

Kevin

I don't use "range bags", as I don't care to advertise to my neighbors what I'm putting in the trunk. I have a padded laptop case that I got at Wal-Mart (on clearance). It easily holds six revolvers (or semi-autos) in their respective rugs, two in each of the three compartments. I put ammo and tools in a 16" tool bag. I've got about $30 invested in both bags. The tool/ammo bag does double duty when I go to the rifle range.

That's what works for me. YMMV.

I feel the same as the above poster, my range bag is a tool bag purchased at Sears for $25.00 on sale. It also does double duty going to the rifle range with ammo, spotting scope, etc.. The toolbag doesn't shout guns inside like range bags or pistol boxes do.

I have found a lot of great buys at Goodwill stores. Last week I found a bag that works fine for guns, ammo and such. Has nine compartments. Heavy duty straps, firm bottom.

It was new and had the price on it of $125.00. I bought it for SIX dollars.

I go into a Goodwill about every two months just to see if there is something I can redesign to fit my needs. If it does not work as I planned, then no big loss. If it does fit my needs, then I saved a bundle over the original price.

Good advise so far. I will have to check out some larger tool bags. The two tool bags that I use are smaller zipper top with no compartments.

Thanks

Paper or Plastic?:)

The Goodwill/Salvation Army thrift stores are a great place to find stuff plus help them out (they do great things for the less fortunate)

A small hard side suitcase or attache case works great. Buy some closed cell foam to put in it and bingo.

I use a laptop case that I bought at a yard sale. I holds my K-frame .357 in it's case, plenty of ammo, a small cleaning kit, ear plugs and shooting glasses. It still looks like a normal laptop computer hanging over my arm. It doesn't draw any attention. I also repack it when I have to baby sit in town.
I also carry a small .25 auto sometimes. For it I found a Sony camera case at Wal-Mart for 10 bucks.
peace,
gordon

I bought an Under Armor gym bag from Sports Authority on clearance for $16.00 and it holds all 5 pistols with ammo and doesn't scream gun...Previously I had a Sears Craftsman tool bag but the strap broke and Sears would not honor the Craftsman warranty even though it said Craftsman on the side so Sears has seen the last of me as a customer....

Wheelbarrow for ammo .. holsters for pistols ... might look like a unionized Ghengas Khan but who cares. only a fool would mess with that

I use a few different bags depending on how much gear I'm toting to the range. For a full day with a lot of guns I take the extra large camera bag with lots of compartments, if it's a one or two gun day I have a road case just larger than a briefcase for two guns and a couple of hundred rounds.
