I have been carrying my Detective Special quite a bit lately and it's pretty comfortable inside my waistband...now I know autos are flatter and supposed to be more comfy in the pants, but I don't find that necessarily true. My P2000 weighs the same as my DS ( a few ounces more with loaded)...but after carrying it for a full day, it starts to feel like a brick....maybe it's the weight in the grip above the belt line. Also, I find the grip and rear of the slide less concealable than the butt of a revolver. What say youz guyz?

Hey Sip, I've carried both as you have. But I prefer semi auto's. But not for the comfort factor. Quite simply, I shoot semi auto's much better than I do a revolver.

I just switched from a Kahr CM9 to an XDS 45. Five plus one with standard magazine and seven plus one with extended magazine. I carry IWB or front pocket and don't even know it's there.

I find it to be true, at least with a 1911, which is about the only thing I will carry IWB these days. But maybe that's because my pants are tighter than they used to be. Probably shrunk from too much washing.

Depends on your holster as well. I have a Galco kingtuck for my G19 and i hated the gun. Could never get comfortable, belt always felt too tight. I thought maybe it really was the bulkiness of the Glock...Later i tried the Crossbreed IWB holster and it was a totally different animal. Now my G19 goes practically everywhere with me

Perhaps a P2000sk is the ticket. I'm a huge fan of Smith revolvers and HK autos. Since I live in a state with no legal way to carry (I did have a concealed carry permit when I lived in GA), it's a moot point, but if it were possible, a P2000sk would be at the top of my list for concealed carry.

Carry both and I agree holster choice makes a big difference. That said, even in a decent rig, the added weight of a double stack mag gets cumbersome carrying all day IMHO. My snubby or Shield are comfortable and concealable all day long.

I don't carry IWB much anymore these days, now I either OWB or Pocket Carry my 60-7. When I did IWB carry my M60-7 I did so at the 9 o'clock position - butt forward (I am a righty) and took the clip off the holster and repositioned it so it would not be directly where the cylinder is. Now that my pants are a bit tighter it is not as comfortable as it use to be.

Regardless of what holster or pants I try, my shape makes IWB uncomfortable. So if I'm going to be uncomfortable anyway, I prefer to carry a gun that gives me the biggest advantage and that is usually a semi auto like my G26 or Kahr CM9 (as opposed to my 340 or LCR). They are heavier, but easier to shoot and hold more rounds. The G26 will pull my pants down regardless of belt tightness, but the Kahr CM9 generally does not. Neither revolver does.

What a coincidence,I seem to have the same problem.FWIW the 1911 is the most comfortable for me followed up by my m&p40c either inside or outside waistband. My 442 is nice and light but that small cylinder still has a bulge. So I guess I like flat best.I don't think the light beer is working.
