I recently bought a new set of stag grips for my my 60 off Ebay. Only paid $40 and they are BEAUTIFFUL. Unfortunately, they are a tad over sized. I'm wondering how hard it would be to reshape the grips for a better fit. Any info on tools and process would be greatly appreciated.

There are a lot of online videos about making stag knife handles. Just Google "making stag knife handles" and you will find several videos that will help.

Thanks, I'd already done a google search and come up pretty dry with the most popular hits. Lots of pages /video's on knifle making, some on stag handles but little usable/details on actualy shaping and finishing the material. Most of it concentrates on the blade and or fitting a round antler piece for a handle vs working "scales". Still looking though.

Contact Executioner, Pat Grasshorn, he's usually got an add in the accessories for sale section of the forum. He makes and sells stag grips for lots of guns, I'm sure he would give you some info.

I recently had to fit a set of stag grip that were too long, I used some of the wife's emery boards. I masked the frame with a layer of masking tape and went to work, after the emery board started to scuff the surface of the tape I removed it and substituted a layer of scotch tape. I buffed the surface of the stag with brown then maroon scotch brite after which I applied a coat of rennisance wax followed by buffing with a microfiber cloth. Grips look great, can't tell they were worked on they look as if they were perfectly fitted from the start.
