Riding a Mid-70's Single Speed Bicycle

Compared to the seat on my regular bike, that is a wider seat.

Then again, I'm 5'8" 160 pounds and my wife tells me that I have no butt.

So then you have that "old man affliction"? Otherwise known as "noassatall"?

Not a condition I have personally had to deal with, but one that I understand is pretty common among senior males ;)

That's really good exercise and one heck of a workout on the bike.

Cool to relive memories and make new ones too.

ETA: That Gary Fischer bike is sweet. A more elegant bike, from a more civilized age. ;)

Nice bike!

My beach cruiser has the look of a single-speed, but it's actually a three-speed automatic. I don't go on any strenuous rides, though, it's mainly for our 1.5-mile boardwalk.

I built the Gary Fisher from a bare frame back in the 90's. The idea was to have a bike that was light enough to ride up a mountain and tough enough to fall off the other side.

Now it still makes a good bike for the area mountain trails.

I had a Sears 5 speed. Rode that bike until the frame broke.

LOL, my very first brand new bike was from Sears. Must've been about 1969 or 1970.
It was a single-speed 20" with a banana seat, sissy bar, and ape-hanger handlebars.
Man o man, did I ever think I was COOL riding that one around the neighborhood!
