Right & Left shoulder holsters??

I always wanted to ccw carry a right & left shoulder holsters with two 6" or 6 1/2" barreled N frame s&w revolvers?

I watched a TV show where the hero wore two Webley MK VI .455's that way. He looked dramatic, but I thought it looked better on TV than in real life.

The M-29 is heavier than a Webley.

Let's see. The Phantom" wore twin 1911's on his hips. "The Shadow" wore twin 1911's in shoulder rigs. The guy with the twin shouldered 6" 29's would be "The Anchor". A question or two. One, would you use speed loaders or speed strips? And two, are these N-frames Blue or Nickel? By the time you have 2 cylinder loads and 4 reloads you'll have 2 or 3 pounds of ammo. All kidding aside, that would be a lot of shinny metal. I don't think the plastic gun guys could stand it! Ivan

Pose for the photos fast because you won't wear them for long - very heavy and uncomfortable! The photo would however make a great holiday card.

I sold a shoulder holster a few years ago that was for a 2" M60 because I hated the feeling of even a 19 ounce single gun.

There was a TV show several years where a young lady about 5 foot something with big boobs carried a pair of Desert Eagles like that ( double shoulder holsters).

I thought it was very practical .

His name was Peterson? He was the Car and Driver and Guns and Ammo publisher. He was often pictured handgun hunting. He carried a model 29 in a chest holster. The piece was off center, off side, but mostly in front.
So whether he was dropping Bambi, turning a porker into bacon or bringing down a bar, his 29 was handy.
Does anybody remember that holster and maybe who made it?

Skeeter Skelton had a doule Bianchi X15/X2000 rig for 1911's, I have seen the photo several times.

Bruce Willis wore a double rig for 1911's in "Last Man Standing".

You may be new to ccw, my apologies if I'm wrong, but the only place I've ever seen this kind of thing done is on TV or in the movies (Dirty Harry). Almost everyone who tires this winds up going w/a small light gun b/c that is the "always" gun.

I once carried a 6 in 629 and a Desert Eagle in a shoulder holster. It's heavy!

It's my impression that movie actors only carry their concealed guns, and wear the fitted cover garments, in scenes where the guns are going to be used. I say this from watching, for example, the Dirty Harry movies and thinking more than once "he can't possibly have a 44 Mag under THAT jacket" in scenes where he was just walking around or talking. This would be consistent with my other impression, that movie guns are VERY closely controlled on set, for obvious safety reasons (very few movie actors are gun people, and even the blanks they use can severely injure or even kill people if accidentally discharged) and are only given to the actors before scenes in which they're going to be used.

So I would take any "unusual" holster rig you see in a movie with a large dose of movie salt as far as real world, daily utility is concerned.

That said, I think it would be an absolute hoot to have one of Lara Croft's double gun, jam-it-on-the-mag-on-the belt-to-reload outfits. (Probably what old&slow is referring to, although I thought she had full size HKs, not Desert Eagles. I'll concentrate harder next time one of the movies comes on TV ) Not to carry, mind you, but to take to the local club IDPA match just to see if it made a difference in my times.

BTW, I HAVE tried shooting 2 J frames at the same time, usually at a 6-plate rack on my club's training range. It is always VERY, shall we say, frustrating.

Actually I think it was a Pam Anderson TV show called V.I.P. with 5'3" Natalie Raltano. On the opening or ending credits there was a slow motion scene with her a running with the double shoulder holsters , and other stuff just a bouncing.

I looked it up but it doesn't say anything about Desert Eagles .
So, don't really know or remember.

I was on 2nd shift at the time and it was one of those high quality later night TV shows.

I worked on the set of "Breaking Bad" one time...the fake APD cops had realistic looking gear on an accurately reproduced gun belt. I had to look closely to see that every piece of gear, cuffs included, was a plastic replica! Sure made that duty belt light. I told the director that the cops should lose the hats as it was not an accurate portrayal, but they said the hats look better on screen.

No. It was Will Snow as Lord John Roxton in, "The Lost World." When not wearing the Webley double rig, he carried a Colt Govt. Model .45.

The show was set from 1919-1922, so the Colt would have been a 1911 model. Another character, Ned Malone, also wore a 1911 a lot. Ask if you want more gun data from the show. I was a major fan and was on the official New Line Cimema fan board, where we got to talk to one star and to the executive writers. A couple of other stars also passed on messages. And they had pics of the real and the prop guns.

I think Skeeter had a pair of Commanders at one time that he had Colt do some custom work on. What models they were does not matter, really.

What I do recall was him writing that he could never draw both at the same time with out them banging together.

At least I think that is what I remember.

Double rig

BigBill: Here is a photo of a double Sigma rig, with dual mag pouch. I like it when I am driving long distances. It is horse hide, fitted to me, and is very comfortable, I have done 1500-3000 miles during July/August and it was warm but acceptable. The rig was made by Black Hills Leather, Rudy Lozano will guarantee a fit. He has also made rigs ( high ride concealment ) for my 629, 57, 500 all are 4". And yes the 500 with a good holster,and good belt is concealable in summer ( a little warm), but I got the holsters so that I could wear them under my hunting coat, not have the muzzle in the snow/ground depending on my hunting spot. My shoulder (Safariland) for the N frames is fine but very difficult to access from under my coat when a deer is looking at me from 30 yrds. 2- 6/6.5 29's?? If I was 6'5" +, yes I would, but I always carry 2 reloads for my gun except when I am in a pool, just throw a kel-tec 380 in the pocket, I do not want to drown. I tried to load a 5 photos and it would not go, but you can see it in my SW forum album. Be Safe,
