One of my high school buddies was not in the demolished building but was nearby, he was killed in a car accident (Springdale Road & Princeton Pike, Rusty) near his home a few months later and a few weeks before his first children was born. RIP Mark. Not Forgotten.

A young neighbor, a Marine, had slept in that building the previous night. He spent the next days recovering the bodies of his buddies. His parents had to wait two weeks for news of his survival.

That was typically military, no proper road blocks or other obstructions . the sentries instructed to have a loaded magazine in their weapons but empty chambers, safeties on. A 5.56 isn't a very good anti-vehicle round.

God bless our service men & women that are placed in harm's way to keep our Nation strong! They don't always know how much danger they are in, but they know the potential is there, and they go anyway.

Our military is what keeps us civilians safe. Prayers for those that have paid the ultimate price, and those still willing to do so to keep us safe. God Bless America and our Service men & women!

One of the lessons from this that has been proven over and over again since is that it is very difficult to defend yourself against an enemy who is willing to give up their life to kill you.

One sentry got off one round, the 5.56 doesn't work too well against vehicles.
That barracks was wide open even though they were in a danger zone.
