Brother can you spare a steak

The local police needed to hook up a huge bottle of pepper spray to the ventilation system like a heating and air man filling up the Freon on your home unit. Then arrest everyone that came out on General Principles. I bet you could find some outstanding warrants and some parole/probation absconders in the mix too.

Actually, when the Coral opened here in town, the food was great. Brought in a local german trained baker, best salad bar around amd wonderful fried chicken. Unfortunately there proved to be a lot of waste, and fat low income people began to multiply. But in a polite world, it was a really good idea that couldn't survive imported social norms.

Last time I was in a Golden Corral quite a few of us from here went to the one in Kissimmee. It was unanimous, breakfast was inedible. Only thing that saved the day was Dimonback68+ (Dick) bringing out a couple of suitcases of Colt's Diamondbacks of all shapes, sizes and calibers. What an education. Gotta be over 15 years ago. Joe

All over a steak? Absolutely wrong! In our society, there is so little grace and empathy, everyone feels slighted, disrespected, & jilted! The solution is to be where you won't feel that way, or to change your opinion of yourself. If you feel self-important and nobody else treats you important, you probably aren't! So be elsewhere, or face reality.

Now about paying for a steak that isn't very good. I haven't had a steak at Golden Coral in 20 years or better. Sunday, my wife and I went to Redlands, a division of J. Alexander's and they had a Ribeye on the daily features menu @ $41. It wasn't stated what size it was, but it was around 10 ounces and varied in thickness from 5/16" to 3/4". I like my meat cooked, so I ordered it Medium Well. It was the toughest piece of meat I have ever been served! Last Ribeye I had there was a year ago May, a 21 ounce ribeye that was cooked to perfection and cost the same $41.

I have eaten in this same building once or twice a year for the last 30 years. I guess I will be dropping them from my Special Occasions list and stick to Texas Roadhouse. I pay far less for better meat.

Nobody needs to worry about "Supply Side Issues", because when you feed me inferior products, I develop "Payment Side Issues!" I also develop "Tell Everybody Issues!" 90% of everybody that matters have now been told. Thank You for your time.

Can't imagine a GC steak is worth even bothering with. Let alone worthy of starting a brawl over.
I will admit to lunching at a GC back many years ago when they first appeared, but do not recall ever trying their rendition of a "steak."

Have not been to Golden Corral since I could afford other places. Do not like Texas Roadhouse due the noise levels. Now when I want a prime rib, we go to Long Horn.

There is no excuse for adults to conduct themselves in such a manner. No excuse. Another example that we have a culture issue out of control in this country.

Kind of like the steak scene from "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance." The first guy should have ordered his steak rare instead of well done and he would have gotten it first.

We found Golden Corral late in our trip. Bro.Dave told us about them when we visited but we didn't see one until we got back to Houston a few days before coming home. It was Veterans Day and the place was packed, but the food was good and the steak I had delicious.

Next day we were in Pearland and saw another restaurant so went in for lunch. No steaks in the servery to my disappointment.

Karen is still telling everyone how great the experience was.

Coming from somewhere where a standard buffet (no steaks on the menu) costs around NZ $40 pp up we found it great value.

But then we do stand on our heads compared to the rest of the world so our viewpoint may be misplaced.
