Country music (the REAL country music) Is almost gone now. We still have a few good ol' country singers left like Alan Jackson, George Strait, Dolly Parton, Patty loveless etc but no more Possum, no more Cash and no more Hag = no more country music in my book.

Sad. Saw this on the net news a bit ago. Hit hard as he was a favorite for many decades. I like the old country best.
This is one of my favorites from the Hag. He had a gift for defining and illustrating the decline in the quality of life in America. His words have a lot of power and touche me very deeply.

My all-time favorite country song is "Mama Tried", one of his ma ny masterpieces. Great, great singer and songwriter.
