RIP Sean Connery

I was very saddened to hear this news earlier today. Sean Connery was the one and only GENUINE James Bond. All the others have been just imposters. He was an icon, and now that he's gone I am actually beginning to feel old.

R.I.P. Sean Connery. You were a joy to watch on the big screen, and the movie industry has now suffered a really major loss in this epic year of 2020. Hope they have a tricked-out Aston-Martin in heaven for you to tour the place.

John

A true icon. I enjoyed his performances in pretty much every movie I saw him in, including Highlander, The Untouchables, and, of course, as James Bond. For me, I think one of his more memorable performances was in a maybe-lesser-known movie, Finding Forrester.

RIP.

You may guess how gutted I am being British born. Along with Roger Moore he was everything a young lad wanted to be, right or wrong.;) For me, his skill as an actor was portraying the character while leaving no doubt that Sean Connery was present.

As for his appeal to women, let me quote our front office lady:

"Sean Connery? All he would have to do is talk to me. He wouldn't have to lay a finger on me...although it would be just fine if he did!"

Check out the list of women he was supposedly been involved with on his Wikipedia page. Wow!

My favorites from his long career? Dang, that's tough. Obviously the Bond movies are right up there, "Outland" is gritty, "The Hunt for Red October" is tons of fun, as is "The First Great Train Robbery", but for pure acting I love "The Offence" (not easy to watch) and a tiwsted masterpiece "The Anderson Tapes".

RIP Sir Sean, an icon to many, and a hero to me.

Missed?
I think the problem is that I have seen him in SO MANY movies,,
I may not be able to watch the movies any more,,

Seeing him in the movie may be more like seeing an uncle, or even closer relative..

Hard to believe the man who escaped from "The Rock" is gone!!

Great man, enjoyed so many of his movies.

One of the pics posted above is from The Name of the Rose, a movie set in the times of the Inquisition. His character uses logic to solve mysteries while others ... well, I'll be careful to not step on forbidden topics.

Agree Outland was another good one, and probably as unknown to most as Name of the Rose.

I just don't have the words... Some people have given so much to us that they should be allowed to live forever. I'm still having trouble accepting John Wayne's death. I will be awhile getting my head around the loss of Sean Connery.

He added class, charm, charisma and skillful acting to every thing he did. His legacy is the decades of wonderful movies he gave us.

RIP Sean Connery, We'll never forget you.

First movie I remember him in was The Hill with Sir Richard Attenboro. I knew right then we was gonna be around for a while. So many non-Bond movies that were great: Hunt for Red October, Outland, One of the Indiana Jones movies -The Last Crusade, The Rock, and so many more.

Loved his acting, a real gift. Not many in Hollywood today know how to really act and portray a character. Too many standup comedians who think repeating one liners is acting. Sean knew how to convince you he was really "that guy". You will be missed sir. Thanks for the memories.

What a stellar body of work.

My mom, 87, was moved to tears. She always said that Sean pegged her "hunk-o-meter". She said that the only thing that kept my dad from out ranking him was that my dad didn't have a Scottish accent.

She said that Zardoz was a horrible movie but that didn't stop her from watching it repeatedly.

Godspeed good Sir knight.
