Riser needed for a Vortex Razor red dot?

I just put my Vortex Razor red dot on my 15-22 with MBUS sights and even though it came with a low riser, I don't think it is high enough to use with my MBUS sights. The red dot appears to be well below the top of the front sight post. I have the red dot mounted almost half way between the rear and front MBUS sights.

If a riser is needed, any recommendations on what size (medium, high) and/or brand. I do have the MBUS sights zeroed in for the most part. I don' t plan on using both the MBUS and red dot at the same time, primarily just want to use the red dot, but will use the MBUS in case I don't want to use the Vortex.

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Certainly works for me and my TrijiCon....;) I certainly did not pay $79 for the mount though....£5 for 2 off of ebay ....hahahahaha.

I would buy the Vortex mount for a real Vortex razor though. :D

Ghost and Trebor,

I really hadn't thought of using a 45 degree off center mount. How tricky is a red dot to use mounted that way? I am so used to using my iron sights and like my optics on the very top so nothing on the side of my weapon would interfere with my field of view.

Also, I plan on getting a 3X magnifier to add in back of my red dot someday, one that will flip to the left side when not being used with the Razor.

But I am appreciative of your suggestion, just not sure how it would work for me.

It is actually quite a natural offhand position. I know a few offhand shooters who cant their rifle. For me it is a secondary optic to my scope. It sure is fun to tilt the rifle and fast fire on a target though. I can do it without changing cheek weld.

Not really for you if you're planning on a magnifier though

The MBUS line of sight is 1.6" above the rail. So, what you need to do is measure the height of the center of your red dot lens above the rail, then subtract this figure from 1.6". The result is the height of the riser needed for a perfect co-witness.

Then go bargain hunting on eBay. You should be able to buy an acceptable [Chinese] riser for $10 or so.

For example:
