Well, the time will be here soon to move to Savannah, GA. I was doing some research, and i find that nearby( couple streets away ) there is Rob Wright Knives.

Anybody familiar with his work?

They say Savanah is beautiful ! Only been there once and stayed one night on a brief visit. We liked what we saw. So historic. Best of luck there.

The heat and humidity of the Bay is nothing like what you will find in Georgia. And while there are very good restaurants in Savanna and the surrounding area, it will take your Yankee taste buds a while to get used to the cooking.

The ocean will smell the same but different fishes.

I can no longer enjoy the heat, I need to stay North of the Mason Dixon line.

I wish you well! It is a beautiful area. We travel to Atlanta to visit the kids and grandkids.

1.- Savannah is approxprox.18 mi. Upriver from the ocean.
2.- In 30 days the heat's gone with the wind.
3.- What southern cooking offended your discerning Yankee palate?
4.- There's a reason the Southerners refer to the line as the Manson-Nixon line.
Neil Young summed it up the best. "Southern man don't need him around anyhow."

Fair warning...but if you come to Georgia, you may find yourself eating unpalatable dishes like these...

It's a tough life...but those of us who were born to it have learned to take it.

Another must do is the Crystal Beer Parlor on Jefferson St. Downtown. Been there since 1933-great local food, beer (obviously)and honest cocktails. In the late 80s and 90s I lived in JAX FL. And would travel to Savannah on business- say expense account. As long as I was turning in the Sales #s an expense from someplace with a name like B6eer Palace never raised an eyebrow. Also check out Spankys on River front if it's still there. Savannah's a great city that didn't get ravaged during the Civil War like Charleston. Being a native from SC- Charleston's still the Holy City of the state.
