I have the Robo cancel program that I installed, but I still get one ring.
And it displays on my TV.
Lately I have gotten a new player.
From Pine Hill , NM. Where in the Sam Hill is Pinehill?
I know most places here in NM, but had to look up that one.
It's over in Western NM on the Ramah Navajo Reservation. Big Rez, don't you know?
Seriously known if the call actually originates there, probably some kind of a really deal.
What's your late breaking Robo call?

Well if I took all the ocean cruises I have won my feet would hardly hit dry land!:D

Check out Nomorobo. Free for landlines. Phone rings once and then stops.

VT Shooter is Correct

On occasion we find ourselves calling ourselves!

We too have robocall blocking through our internet/phone service. One ring only.

I received a call from myself! They can make a call look like it comes from anywhere they want. Unless I know the caller I just don't answer. If they really need me they can leave a message, (after a 6 second wait before the beep).

I think if I was dummying a NM location , I would use one located not far from Pinehill.
I would use Black Rock.
That would tempt folks to answer , so they could ask -
Are you having a bad day in Black Rock?

We have caller ID and never answer the phone unless we know the number. Darn few leave a voice mail but the IRS is apparently filing another lawsuit against us as they said so on a voice mail yesterday.
Oh well.

For the last couple of months I have been getting two to three robocalls calls a week from some outfit in Florida saying they are bill collectors trying to collect from me, despite the fact that I don't owe anything to anyone. They leave a number and want me to call them back, but I won't be doing that under any circumstances. I have recorded a number of these robocalls from my answering machine (they all say exactly the same thing), as I have determined that it is illegal for bill collectors to use robocalling. If the calls continue, I plan to report them. I haven't received any of those calls for the last week, so maybe they gave up. NoMoRobo will not work on my land line (AT&T) - I checked.

Okay, I double checked about the $4.99 per month charge. No charge for landline, but my carrier, Windstream, does not support Nomorobo, so I can't use it anyway.

I have a land line only because it was a package deal with Verizon. Phone, TV, Internet. Comes as a bundle. If you cancel one the two remaining will be priced individually and thus more expensive. If my landline rings I know it's telemarketing. I still look at the called ID just in case and then click TALK and OFF. Phone stops ringing and I don't need to erase the message

I get 20-25 of these unwanted calls a week. I'm using a Digitone call blocker that can block individual numbers, or entire area codes. Still, they keep coming up with new numbers.

The latest thing is an IRS scam. I get a call telling me IRS has filed suit. They give me a number to call.

Go to 800notes.com to find out about the number that called you.

I actually like the IRS ones.

"What? You're from the IRS? So am I! Which office do you work at?" <click>

"You're from the IRS? I live in Canada, why should I care?" <click>

"You're from the IRS? Great, I'm Agent Jones with the FBI and we've been trying to locate you." <click>

"IRS? I don't care where you're from, I have to get rid of this body before the cops get here." <dead air>

They're only annoying if you let them be. :D

I like the tactic to get by our anonymous call rejection. They put in the name as 1234567890 or ABC123DEF. Luckily it shows up on the visual called ID on Comcast.
We are getting five or six calls per day from 202 and 212 area codes.
