Rolling Stones Houston Show....WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Watched their Havana Moon concert from 2016 a couple months ago and they still rock. Actually, I think they're better than ever in concert these days.
Mick's like the Energizer Bunny on stage. The man never stops moving.
I've heard estimates of 6 to 12 miles is what Jagger covers during a show.
One of the first records I ever bought was Not Fade Away in 1964. That was their third UK single and their first to be released in America. My older sister's boyfriend had a Chevy Corvair that had a record player in it. He asked to borrow it one evening and I never got it back.
Lifelong Stones fan here.

Saw them at the Altamont free concert in 1969. One of the weirdest experiences of my life. Got there before sunrise and then sat in the hot sun all day with people overdosing and passing out with heat stroke. Saw a lot of other performers during the day including Jefferson Airplane and others. People died at that concert! After keeping the crowd waiting all day the stones finally came on after it got dark. Word was that Mick wanted to appear under the lights in his devil costume when they opened with "Sympathy for the Devil." And know what? After one of the worst experiences of my life that lasted from sunrise to sunset - when the Stones finally performed - they were incredible! Absolutely amazing! To this day I have a love/hate relationship with the stones. Their lack of respect for their fans was awful but they are still the greatest rock and roll band ever and I love their music.

I've only had one bad....

....concert where the players were too stoned to know what was going on.

Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen open for the New Riders of the Purple Sage. GREAT opener.

The Riders look like a garage band trying to think of a song they know well enough to play. This goes on for 15 minutes.

Commander Cody comes out and leads them, thus saving their collective asses. He put on a real show. Turned into a great concert after that.

All of the other concerts I paid money to see were very well organized and pulled off with aplomb.

My Dixie used to say, you only live once and if you do it right, once is enough. You won't say I wish I had the money back that I wasted on that concert. I'm glad you had a good time. She also said that the reason Mick kept having babies with the young women is because he can. Go figure............

We went to an "Aerosmith" concert one time in Shreveport in an 18 wheeler. I loaded in Magnolia Ar. That day and we had our tickets already. We got there early and parked way in the back of the lot. When the concert was over, I took a 2 hr nap til the cars were all gone and went to San Antone to deliver. Joan Jet opened for them. That was nearly 30 yrs ago. Sorry for the drift I hadn't thought of that in years.............

Not the best kind of history, but you can say, "I was there." I was the true end of the 60's. Not much sunshine and flowers that day.

Wow, does that bring back memories! I got to see Commander Cody at Temple University at the Ambler, PA campus. Thirty years later I'm still listening to them for hours in the car on DVD.
