I recently bought a model 36-9 and would like to know when it was made before I invest in grips and finish

The 36-9 began in 9/1996 and went to the 36-10 in 2001. Without a serial number that is about it.

Wow, if it is that rough, it would not be worth investing money in. Does it shoot OK?

Refinish is never an "investment".
Expense is the word.

I shot 3 boxes of148gr Fiocchi through it and everything worked perfect with a tight group so I Thought I'd. give it a second chance at life
