I don't think it gets weak with age. I've used 2-3 year old Round Up and it worked great.

Thank you ! I hope you are right ,if so my back fence line should look like an Agent Orange hit!

Milt,

Sparky is correct. It doesn't hurt if it it frezzes and will keep along time.

I work for a landscape company and know it will last several hyears. Try to avoid extreme heat on lot of direct sunlight and no problems

George, what does adding water do to it that will cause it to have a shorter life?Just curious !

I've been working on a five gallon jug of Round-Up that I got in 1994 and it still works effectively. Since I sold the ranch I haven't had much need for it, but that will change later this year when I move back out to the country.

Hi Milton!

I'm not sure. (Chemistry was many moons ago!) However, I normally get my Round Up from a farmer/friend when he is spraying in bulk. When I have gotten it directly from his spray tanks, (mixed) it would start losing its' effectiveness before the end of our season. I've tried using it the following Spring and it's not effective at all; might as well be spraiyng straight water.

When I voiced this observation, he gave me a 5 gallon container of concentrate and told me not to mix it until needed. (He's a good friend - stuff's expensive in concentrate!) This was 4 years ago and the remaining 1 1/2 gallons are still very effective.

My farmer/friend also suggested that one should only purchase Round Up with a minimum of 50% Glyphosate. According to him; anything less (such as that purchased at hardware stores and big box stores) and you are just paying for fillers and water.

I don't know what the difference would be but I mixed up a 30 gallon barrel from Round Up concentrate and it lasted several years. In fact, I used some of the last of it last year and it still killed whatever I put it on. I used a lot of it at our old house but don't really need it where we are now. Milton, I see you are in B'Ham, if you need/want some I think I still have at least one of the 5 gal. containers that I could make you a good deal on. This is the concentrated stuff and it will make many gallons to spray. I don't even know what it sells for now but I'm easy to please and I would not try to rip off a fellow S&W lover, a Ruger guy maybe.
