An additional entry for your very generous offer. This is a clearly marked 629-2 yet I cannot find any reference in SCSW to one so marked in 3" RB. Serial Number (BBW) places it in late 88 - early 89 yet the Lew Horton run of 3 inch "Combat Magnums" marked 629-1 were years earlier (1985). Engraving may be factory but unsigned so can't tell for sure. A true mystery in need of a letter. Thanks for the opportunity...

Curtis,

Congratulations on your upcoming milestone.

Please include my very first S&W, purchased new in October 1966 - an early Model 36-1, s/n 456212.

SCSW-3rd reports that the 36-1 was introduced in 1967, so I may have one of the first produced. Purchased it in Washington, D.C. while on active duty. It was my constant companion for a year while serving in Viet Nam, and currently serves as my concealed carry ... so we're pretty "close"

Thanks for a wonderful karma,

Curtis,
This is a great idea for a give-a-way. Way to go! Hope to see you on the 30th of May!

Well - I'd get the letter for this one...

My Mother made me get something to remember her by before she passed, and this was it.

Good Karma to all,
Bob S.

Can a pistol play too?

I'd love to know where this went, when S&W got it back, and then where it went.

I just saw this gun on your thread and was thinking to myself you need to add it in the hat...glad you did.

Alright folks I have hit the mark. I will let this run until tomorrow evening when I'll pick the winner. So if you want in I will cut it off at 5pm CST tomorrow.

S&Wj...sorry, but my rules state you must have 50 posts by the time I hit 1500 so in fairness to the others I gotta tosh your entry.
Dont get me wrong, I have nothing against newbies (we've all been there) but I set post requirements to incite people to contribute to the forum.
Dont worry, I like to "see" myself talk and do a karma like this about every 500 posts, so you'll get plenty of chances.

BTW...Welcome to the forum

Thanks,

I don't believe I qualify with the number of post but I like to show-off my shooter just the same. A S&W letter from Mr. Jinks would be very nice.

You have 3 days to send an email to my profile address to claim your prize. Please send me the full serial number on your gun and I'll get the ball rolling with Roy. He will be out of the office until the 19th, but I want to make sure there is info available on your gun before we proceed

Congrats!!!

I went the totally fair way and used the karmanator...there is no way I could choose from all the great guns posted

Curtis, You have a few e-mails from me already. THANK YOU! To all the members that posted,I thank you for posting. There are many beautiful guns shown here. I spend much time here on the fourm and have made quite a few friends over the years from posting and buying here. I am going to have this gun lettered in my sons name (William III) since he will own it after I am taking a long dirt nap. Thanks again!
