Cool, thanks for posting that one! Don't know how I missed that one when I was a kid. I can just hear it now, careful kid you'll blow your brains out.

I don't remember the trick hat but sure remember Roy and Dale
and the rest of the gang. Saw his movies at the Sat. afternoon
movies they played for kids. Also remember his TV show. Do
kids even play cowboys any more? I never see any kids cowboy
stuff for play in ads on TV.

I had one of those buckle derringers too. I think they were made by Mattel and used "Greenie Sick-em Caps." I also had a "Fanner 50" that looked like a Colt SAA, it used the self-adhesive caps too. There was a local (Louisville, KY) TV show (WHAS Channel 11) back in the late 50's/early 60's called T-Bar-V, it was a cowboy/kid's birthday show and between cartoons kids would go in front of the camera, where the show host Western singer Randy Atcher and his sidekick Cactus Tom Brooks would let you wave and say hi to your parents and relatives. After that Randy would count to 3 and you could fast-draw your six-shooter...of course I had my Fanner 50 and derringer and was in my Hop-Along Cassidy outfit! Those were the days...

While I never had one I remember the add well.

I did have the belt buckle derringer...

Wish I had a few of those hats. They bring BIG BUCKS from collectors! Hell,a Roy Rogers lunchbox in excellent shape is worth a couple of hundred bucks, and there are gazillions of them around.

i watched that show every day, loved it,and im sure you know that tom brooks brother was foster brooks

Wow! $5.98! That was a lot of money for a toy back then. At least for my parents. I had the Roy Rogers double holster set and the Mattel Shootin' Shell derringer and rolling block rifle. This is the first I've heard of the Quick Trigger Shooter hat. Probably because we didn't have a TV at that time.
