I was forced to sell my 15-22 a while back and finally was able to buy a new one recently. I am just curious how many guys bought a Eotech clone from Rrages.com and how it is working. Anyone that doesn't want to publicly post please PM me with your findings.

You looking for a review of RRages? Or an Eotech clone?

My single dealing with RRages was just fine and I recommend them. But it was an Aimpoint cline, not Eotech.

No I am looking for guys that bought a Eotech clone from RRages.com

I know there are a bunch of different knock offs and I am interested in finding out how the Eotech clone that RRages.com sells.

I wanted to test the clone Eotech, so I ordered the 552 Eotech clone from RRAGES. From the time I held it, it seems solid, build well, worked fine at home, easy to zero, held up fine at home. Within one week, went to the range to test, the batt was dead. It worked for around 150 rounds, then the green LED stopped working. The red still works, but the batt. dies in 3 to 4 hours. You have to remove them or they just drain in the unit. So I just kissed off $99 + shipping for a good test.. Buy quality and stop wasting on test...That is the word for today.. I got one that looks good in the shower, rather than one that works in bed!

Battery life on the "clones" is poor in my experience but you can order the little watch batteries normally used in tandem in these sights in bulk. There is no grace period, though, if you forget and leave the sight ON. If the there's a good clone using AA or AAA batteries it'd be worth looking into.

My real Eotech 553 uses a pair of 3v Surefire batteries that are common enough; my Aimpoint CompM4S uses a single AA.

Mine has been great. the batteries it came with didnt last very long but I have replaced it with some energizer or something and they have been running it for well over a year now. Mine has held zero this whole time, I have 100% zero complaints about the one I bought. This one uses AA which is something I was really looking for instead of the CR sized batteries i see on the airsoft sights.

And this is the one from Rrages.com?

The Eotech clones I've seen ain't really Eotech clones. They're dot sights mimicking the Eotech dot pattern. Unless you're in love with the "dot in the middle of the circle" pattern -- or the real Eotech is your duty sight -- any dot sight will do.

I've not looked at the Eotech clones that closely but the "real" center dot is 1 moa in my Eotech 553 and 2 moa in my real Aimpoints. The clone dots seem to be 4 and 5 MOA. Good enough for 50 yards, though.

I'm sure they've gotten better the past few years but the sights that offer different patterns provided drastically different zeros as well when I tested them a few years ago.

rrages sells this one advertised with a 1MOA dot in a 65MOA ring (no multiple reticles which is good thing, IMO). Uses 2 AAA batteries. If you really want one, you might consider sending George an email and ask him what he thinks of it and any feedback from his customers. George is a good guy and no-nonsense to do business with from what a lot of folks say.

Eotech 552 Clone Sight

I am guessing with his 100% money back guarantee that he must feel like it is good enough to put on his site. I guess I will give one a try.

Laser as an aiming device? Not even close to a red dot as the laser is invisible unless it strikes something. Place it below the horizon and you may see the laser, but acquisition is often not there. Dot sight on the other hand is always visible once you establish your shooting position. Laser indoors is usually OK.

And this is the one from Rrages.com?

Yup. I did what was suggested a few posts down and sent George an email about the return rate and quality. he had zero issues with them and was suing them on some full auto AR's. So i decided why not and have been more then happy with my choice. Everyone who shoots it loves the thing too. I have even though about buying another for my 12 gauge
