The few I've seen for sale have been in the $800-$1,000 range. As for a FFL you might check the search on Gunbroker, they list FFLs' by zip code that are willing to do transfers.

Magnificient gun, WaterburyBob! The Recon 9 may be the best looking S&W auto of all time, at least in my book. How does that beauty shoot?

It shoots really well. Absolutely reliable and very accurate. The Briley spherical bushing, overall tightness of the gun and the match-grade barrel, along with the hand-lapping at the Performance Center really do the job.
