I really like my new 9mm 2.0. However, the rtf on it is just a hair too rough for me. ( I like the rtf on the 1.0). So is there anything I can do to change this; or anywhere I can send the pistol to have it altered?

Use very very fine grain sandpaper just to take the sharp edge off. A less permanent solution is to use a grip sleeve or cut a tire tube and make your own custom grip sleeve.

Or try a 1.0 backstrap on your 2.0.

I did the opposite 2.0 on my 1.0

I lightly sanded the left panel with some 220 sandpaper. That knocked down the peaks of the texture and made it more comfortable against my bare hide. It still gives a good grippy surface.

You should get used to it. I felt the same way at first, I went from 1911's to Glocks, to the M&P 2.0. It just took some getting used to, and I have since applied that sticky grip tape to my 1911's. I only carry the 2.0 now and I will never go back. It took some time, but after a few months the factory stippling has me gripping the pistol perfectly every time, sweaty or freezing. They did their homework, and they did it right, at least in my opinion.

As stated, you can take some light sandpaper and shave it down where it bothers you, but don't have someone "modify" it. It may not be what you want or like in the end.
