I have a S&W M-25 in 45 LC It recoils hard when load it hot. Other than reduce my loads, what best recoil absorbing grips I can buy ?

Try the Hogue rubber X frame grips on it - made mine feel like shooting .38specials. The last one I got from the S&W online store. I'm sure other places carry them as well.

I just put the Zombie X on my 686 plus, Much better than the stock grip, And Yes I also Have the Hogue grip in black, for carrying, The Zombie grip is cool but bright!!!

That grip won't fit an N frame SB. It will fit an N frame RB but needs to stretch a bit to fit.

My solution is John Culina's copy of the S&W Coke, like the one on my Model 25-5. Really handles recoil well.

The secret I believe is how John has contoured the rear of the grip, shown here on the same gun:

The x-frame grip is only available from S&W, unless you can find one in the secondary market. It will fit a K, L or N frame round butt. The new Pachmayr Diamond Pros are available, also for round butt only. If your 25 is a square butt, your choices are narrowed to the Pachmayr Decelerator or Gripper.

Adios,

I have Pachmayr grips on all of my "N" frame hard kickers as well as the more moderate calibers. I cannot shoot hard grips due to a "base of the thumb" problem. Using Pachmayr's, I have no problems with recoil.

the hogues make my 44 mountain gun quite manageable. with the wooden grips it stung a lot

i have pachmayr presentation grips on all of my S&W revolvers........recoil absorbing and comfortable.....

Between the Pachmayr Decelerators vs. the Grippers I would recommend the Decelerators. I've had both on my Model 29's and with full house loads the Decelerators absorb recoil much better IMO.

Also, you can get the Decelerators for either round or square butts. I have them in both configurations.

Any Pachmayr grip that covers the backstrap. I like Gripper and Decelerator models.

Square butt

I have the Pachmayr Decelerator already. What the real problem is my loads are to hot . 15.5 grs of Blue Dot behind 250 gr cast.

On my 4" 686 the only way I shoot magnums is when I put on the soft Hogue mono grip.

Frankly I don't enjoy shooting 357 magnums like I used to so it wears some modified target grips I got a couple of months ago here.

You said it yourself. Your loads are too hot. Especially for an S&W handgun.
If you want to shoot hot 45 Colt loads, buy a Ruger Bisley and switch to H110.
I expect you will either shoot your S&W loose or blow it up shooting that load you mentioned.
Download to 13.0g of Blue Dot, max.

Or...buy a S&W designed for hot loads like a 44 magnum, M460, or M500.

I mentioned the Ruger Bisley because it is a pleasure to shoot with hot loads. More so than the regular Blackhawk. The Bisley grip feels good in the hand and needs no modification for repeated shooting of hot loads. I shoot 250g bullets over 20.5g of H110 for over 1250 fps muzzle velocity. And it is an accurate load as well.

I don't think you are going to find a better grip to reduce the felt recoil......If it were me I would try using a shooting glove in addition to the Pachy Decelerator. If that doesn't work, I think you will have to reduce your loads to a bearable comfort level OR just grit your teeth and live with it. JMO!!
