Rubber Grip that absorb recoil

Is the Zombie grip any softer than the regular black grips?

No, About the same, But I also got the Hogue Black grip, Much better feel to me, The bottom is rounded off nicer. The Zombie grip is nice, but too bright for carry. Either one is better than the stock grip for your fingers

That's why I've always preferred SAs for my big-bore magnums.

Say no more!
Any Pachmayr grip that covers the backstrap. I like Gripper and Decelerator models.

YUP, andy5 gave you the answer. These work GREAT on my HE 44 of 1950. But I don't load it with anything NEARLY as hot as what you're describing.

If I'm reading the load guide right 15.5gr of blue dot is above the max for both 44 magnum and 45LC.

These decelerators will work great on your 45 too if you down load it to something a little more reasonable. I like that they have a nice contour like the Culnas that cprher referred to, but they are really affordable.

Not nearly as pretty as the Culnas, but you didn't ask about pretty wooden grips, you asked for recoil absorbing rubber grips.

I don't know what stocks that you have on your 25. I have a 25-15. It had the factory target grips on it (Altamont?) I put some 80's S&W target grips on it, and it was much more comfortable to shoot. I am not shooting as heavy as you. If you have some N targets lying around, you may wish to try it. Bob

I've used Hogue grips on several revolvers. They are nice, but not what I like best. I've found a good fitting set of stocks tames recoil and ensures positive control. The bonus is you can have good looking furniture on your Smith as well. I've determined I like Kim Ahrends stocks. Here are two examples of his Tactical stocks; one with finger grooves, one without, both in Cordia. I use loads in these two revolvers (25-9 and 625-7) that hover around 23,000 PSI. That is the maximum I care to shoot from these two, and it falls in line with .45 ACP +P pressure. That pushes a 280 grain LSWC from the 6" tube at about 1,000 fps. Pretty much all I need in a revolver. It will cleanly go through an elk from chest to rump and continue on its way.
