I have a 3" M60-15 and a similar SP101. The Ruger is more comfortable primarily because of the rubber grips. Is there a Pachmayr or Hogue grip for the M60 that is similar in size to the Ruger? I had a Pacmayr Compac on my long gone M65 that I remember as comfortable but I remeber it as much larger than the SP101 grip. Is the J frame Compac grip significantly smaller than the K frame version? Other recommendations for a rubber grip.sp101&S&W.webp

Lots of choices!
The Pachs Gripper Pros are front - back parallel except they have front finger grips.
Don't have a J frame set, but here's some on a 66.IMG_0028.webp

Here are the Pachmayr Compacs on a 940.

Hopefully gives you an idea of how big they are.

Exactly! One fine shooting pint size revolver. I will never sell mine.

Hogue Bantams work better for me than Pachmeyers or Uncle Mikes. Though they don't cover the back strap, the side panels are sufficiently cushiony and tacky enough to absorb some recoil and provide a secure grip.

Altamont makes some kind of similar to the Ruger ones you like

Diamond Pros vs. Compacs.
Here you go!
About the same overall size.
The DP is thinner at the top, gets thicker with a bulge at the bottom.
Compac also gets thicker at bottom, but more of a straight line increase.
DP has the slight front Finger Grooves.
I have Compacs on four guns and DP on none, so I guess I prefer the Compacs!IMG_2720.webp

Thanks, I'm leaning toward the Diamond Pro since it's a one piece grip with no seam in the front.

I don't have experience with those grips, but I am interested in them for my own m60 that I am getting in a day or so from my FFL.

I have SLAC on both wrists which means all of the bones are crumbled and only a total fusion can stop the pain. Problem is, total fusion means you cannot pull a trigger, so the surgeon made it clear, live with it. So, I wear a brace or gloves and take pain meds, everything 357 size or larger hurts a lot.

I still shoot and maybe cry a bit, but it is what gun guys do. I like the factory grips on the Mode, 60 three inch and I love the gun, but it hurts. I tried the Ergo grips and while the feel strange, they do reduce recoil for the hottest loads.

If you wear a real gunfighter daily, these would be a logical choice, you just have to get over the mental element and learn to attack the target with these guys.

But, I like to carry this little gun, especially in winter, when I am out at night with the little dogs, we live with coyotes around all the time, so when we go pee at night a gun goes. I love the big SW Governor with buck shot and have sent 4 off running once. But I like this smaller one, it fits in the hip pocket.

So, I put Crimson Trace Laser Grips on it. Absolutely the fastest sighting and rounds down range that anything possible. Do not even have to raise the gun, just put the dot on target and fire, one hand or two.

Problem is, those things hurt. Just a point. Unless you are just doing lots of range practice, sometimes the sighting systems is more important that the grip style.

ERGO (you have to be emotionally secure in your manhood to allow somebody to see you with these on your gun)

LG 105, smallest laser grips. These are absolutely the smartest thing you can put on a J Frame or any gun with a 2-3 inch barrel. If you want to shoot 50 yards? Then just pull the trigger. Downside? with full power 357 they hurt. So, how many self defense events or hog shootings do you do?

I have snub guns in 22, 38, 357, 44 mag and 45 acp. I shoot them all with open sights. This one, I shoot with the laser because I want immediate results at night or low light, when it matters. I likewise have a model 66, 2.5 inch with the same grips, it kicks too. Again, nothing quicker or more effective or as fast, when it matters.

This is not popular, and they look unconventional, but they work! Take a look at the Ergo Delta grip. They are comfortable in the hand and help very well with recoil. I have a set on my 640-1 and can shoot full power 158 gr. .357 loads. 1756945739832.webp
