Hey! guys, I have a set of rosewood grips on the way to replace the factory rubber on my 66-5. What is the easiest way to remove the rubber grips without hurting them.

As long as you remove the screw first,,,,, and then proceed to spared them apart slightly then slip them off they'll be fine.

I'm not sure of the production date for your model 66 but I am quite certain that they are mounted with a screw. On the more recent revolvers the grips are mounted with a single screw on the heel of the grip, so turn the gun upside down. If you have grips with this type of mount, once you slide the grip off the frame you'll find a spring loaded pivoting strap. That can be pryed open and removed from the pin that retains it to allow mounting grips that use the traditional screw in the side of the grip.

These have the S&S logo and there are no screws I have a bantam wedge from another set of grips and will give that a try.
I have attached a picture of my 66 pinto with the grips.

Those are Hogue Bantams. When they come from the factory, they don't say Hogue. Hogue makes them for several firearm manufacturers with the manufacturer's logos on them. If you've got a wedge, you're good to go.

Thanks srgvaz, but the factory grips don't have a screw. Do they just pry off?

You could of mentioned they had NO screw, or included a picture. :) I can see you have plenty of advice now, but you can always call Hogue up as they may send you a wedge if you ask.
