I have a Ruger 22/45 that i am having problems reaching the mag release button. Does anyone make an extended release button for this model? How would you suggest remedying the problem? Also I am looking to remove the mag release button when disassembling the gun and have not found how to do it. Suggestions?

Most people just rotate the gun in their hand slightly. That goes for most centerfire autos too. Use your support hand to rotate the gun in your firing hand as you let go to reach for the new magazine. I am assuming your are doing a fast reload for some sort of competition. Practice will speed this process up greatly.

The link below is as far as I have found detail striping instructions for the 22/45.

Below is how to remove the mag release and install an oversize 1911 mag button. I would drill and tap instead of the JB weld he used, but it looks like the epoxy works as well....
