Picked up a Tandemkross rail this week. Nicer than the Ruger rail as it doesn’t hang over the barrel. Wanted to try my cheap Red dot on it. I’ll probably upgrade to a reflex or maybe a better tube style like an ultra dot. If you got any suggestions with pics, feel free. I’m leaning towards the tube style for target shooting as it feels more like a scope and I don’t need the speed of the reflex.

I've had several different tube and reflex red dots on my Buckmark 5.5 Field over the years and kept changing them for various reasons. I finally settled on a Bushnell First Strike 2.0. I can pick up the dot faster than I can on a tube style, or a smaller reflex like Burris FFII/III or Vortex Venom. Not that I need real fast target acquisition, I just hate having to search for the dot. Plus, I just think the reflex looks better as they are slimmer, lighter, and generally smaller than tube style on my Buckmark.

Although, I do have a Primary Arms SLx Advanced Push Button Micro Red Dot Sight - Gen II on my Ruger SRH .44 Mag mainly because it has the 'Shake Awake' function when I use it for hunting.

I like the products from Tandemkross. I had some difficulty with their shadow mount and my MkIV Lite however. The screws supplied with it were too short and the frame got a little stripped installing them. That second part is on me no doubt. One phone call to them and they had some longer screws sent right out, great customer service.

I borrowed the SRO off my TRR8 but it works so good it might never go back.
