Ruger Security 6?

I had one issued to me in 1976. It was a 4" blued model. It eventually loosened up. I could grab the barrel in my left hand and grip the grips with my right hand and there was noticeable movement in the frame. I turned it back in and got permission to carry my S&W model 28-2 after passing on a Colt Trooper model, which had a trigger with a hefty, long pull that would require a grown man and a young boy to manipulate. Years later I was issued a Ruger Speed Six with 2 3/4" barrel. It was a reasonably accurate, solid and shootable revolver.

A while back I owned a 4" SS Security Six with an extra heavy contour factory barrel. Barrel was heavier than the standard heavy barrel. It had the box with it when I sold it; now wish I'd kept it.

Had a 2 3/4" SS Speed Six (fixed sights), in I believe .38 Spl. A good gun but heavy for just a .38 Spl.

Fair price, perhaps negotiable? For comparison theres currently a 4" blued one for sale on another forum for $525 shipped, but a later model than the one you're looking at. I recently paid $750 for a NIB example in the 2 3/4" barrel length. At one time I had all three barrel lengths in blue. Sold all three but now that I bought this 2 3/4" one ill like get the other two as well. They are great guns, about indestructible, almost never get out of time. No parts or support available from Ruger, but you're unlikely to need it and they are easy to work on and parts are available.

I traded off my 2 3/4" Security Six some years back. Traded with a buddy for a set of twin 72 dive tanks, with the understanding I had first rights if he ever sold it.

I talked with him a year of so later and told him I'd like to swap back. He agreed, then the next day when he came to work he said his wife had sold it without telling him. She wanted new curtains for the house.

They divorced a couple years later....

The bottom two are with a set of stocks that don’t fit on the 1973 made Security Six, but fit on this frame. The gun blue will shine up some; I couldn’t find any marks and has very little wear in the usual holster spots. The wood is in very good shape and will clean up nice. I’m probably going to put those target stocks on it, as they feel more comfortable.
