I've owned a generation two LCP (not the LCP2) for several years and usually carry it in warm weather, or when my wardrobe needs dictate a tiny gun. My LCP has been in the safe for months w/o being maintained. I keep it loaded w/a round chambered and it ran like a sewing machine today @ the range. I even tried a few mags of mixed FMJ & HP w/no problems. This makes about 400 + rounds I've put through this gun absent a single failure. It was purchased second hand about 8 years ago and I realize these things can be hit or miss but this one is a jewel. Up to the point of this purchase I'd tried all of the .380 pocket pistols and almost gave up on them due to spotty reliability.

The LCP has a lot going for it as a pocket pistol.

Been hoping to get a pocket .380 in the near future, and the LCP is probably my second choice, first being the Beretta Pico (newer one...I believe original 1st gen models had issues).

It's my go-to when I can NOT print. Never missed a beat.

I've put 500 rounds through mine. Always Remington HP, I only own one magazine, not a single issue. Great gun. Old trigger style. Easier carry than a J Frame.

I've been carrying a Ruger LCP 10th Anniversary Edition since last Summer. I carry it with me practically everywhere I go because it's just so light and easy to conceal.

I have owned an LCP since right after they first came out. It went back to Ruger one time for a recall. I don't remember what it was for. I put a Hogue Handall grip on mine. Although it is not the most pleasant gun to shoot, it has never given me any problems. It is my carry gun for those times when I absolutely can't carry anything larger.

I have the similar EC9s, carry it daily for I guess 3 years or so now; whenever they were 1st advertised. It's never failed to do anything. Handy little gun. I shoot it every time I hit the range, at least one mag. They are nice guns for the money.

I've owned one for years (old style)....carry it occasionally when discretion is key
Very reliable and crazy accurate for a tiny gun with tiny sights.

I usually carry a j-frame as I just like them better, but don't feel unarmed with 7rnds of .380 XTP that go where I point them.;)

I have one of the Earlier LCP's Talo Edition with Hard Chrome Slide (Looks kinda like Stainless) It's been reliable & was Pocket Carried (in a Pocket Holster) almost Daily from 2011 till Last Year it's been mostly replaced By My Glock 42 which has far superior Night Sights & is easier to shoot accurately but the LCP is not going anywhere I still carry it when I need a really small gun

I've had this one since they first came out. Sent it back for the recall. And like Fishinfool, I put a little dab of fluorescent green on the little bump of a front sight, although I'm not sure why. I mean, after all, this little thing was designed as an up close and personal "belly-button range" gun. I have no idea how many rounds I've put through this pistol, but it still functions without a hiccup.

I like mouse guns and I've owed the following: Kel tec .32acp, .380, Two Taurus TCP .380s, Ruger LCP, and still own a Ruger LCP II. All were perfectly reliable but I didn't shoot that many rounds through them because they're not that fun to take target shooting. The LCP II has great sights and trigger but it is a little bigger than the other guns but that makes it also the softest shooting.

I do private armed security for high profile people, and during the summers I use to carry my S&W 36 "chief".At the time I thought it was a pita to carry as a OWB gun (shirt covering) and I didn't like the print.
So I decided to buy the LCP1.It became my EDC all year around especially during the warm weather.I then started using a DeSantis sticker holster that I think is pretty good depending on weather and clothing. Now the last two years or so I decided that I wanted to carry something with some stopping power.
So long story long I now carry a Sp101 three inch .357 or my "chief" w/158 grain +P, as my EDC except in real warm weather or when clothes are a real factor (then LC is my date for the day/night)
It's a great little conceal/pocket gun imo.....

LCP Gen 1 was my first EDC. Sold it to upgrade to a LCP Custom a few years ago and only had to make up a $20 difference for the for the new and improved LCP.

Now waiting on delivery of an LCP 22 model for a trainer/plinker.

I've had my 1st gen LCP for about 10 years and who knows how many rounds, not a single malfunction or failure with a good variety of SD and range ammo. It's not my most accurate or easy to shoot carry gun but it goes with me when I cant carry something else and it's never failed to go bang.
Several years ago I had the slide machined for night sights, I dont think it was a waste of money but I wouldn't do it again.

I had an LCP1 for several years, but when I tried the LCP2 at a gun show, it had just the few improvements I liked, so it has now been used since. Never any malfunctions. Only the LCP1 mags will not hold open after last round fired, they are back up mags.

My wife and I both have had LCP's for quite a while. Usually carried same as you, when weather/clothing dictates. One thing we found was the little "lip" on the bottom of the magazine is a definite must for us...

I've carried my LCPII around my ankle, in my pocket, IWB and OWB. I have put all kinds of ammo through it....NEVER a problem. All my Rugers that I have had were/are problem free.

I went the 9EZ route for the easy slide....nothing but probs (FTF) from day one. Back to S&W for 8 weeks. Improved but still enough FTF that I will be replacing it. I cannot depend on an EDC that has feed problems.

YES, S&W is on my naughty list at this time.

My EDC is a full sized M&P9.

When I can't carry that, i carry P365.

When I'm on the bike, I throw the LCP in the bike Jersey back pocket.

Got mine in 2010 and it was my only carry gun for 8 years when I switched to a Shield9.

Still carry it daily around the house.

ziggidy: There is a post on this forum about the "EZ 9mm FTF" issue that you might find interesting. Do a search above or I found it on Google.
Long story short was he polished the feed ramp and found that when pushing a round out of the mag by hand he felt the underside of the mag lips were rough (bullet was not sliding out smoothly). He polished them and problem solved. He was experiencing almost every other round was a FTF.
Ive had a few S&W mags that had extra plastic on the mag followers that needed trimmed or polished and needed the inside of the mags lubed and then wiped out because they were so rough the follower dragged. Might give it a look.
I have a 9EZ and love it.

Be SAFE and Shoot Often!

I have always avoided Ruger products whenever I could. (I made the mistake of selling my LCP to buy a Bodyguard .380 when they started to appear.) However, both the Ruger company and S&W have changed over the years, and nowadays I am less likely to hold Ruger's previous policy-crimes against them. :D And given how absolutely awful my experiences have been with the S&W Bodyguard .380, I think one of my to-do things for 2021 will be to liquidate the two Bodyguards that just lie around here (they are basically useless) and buy an LCP. I would never, in my wildest dreams, have thought S&W would offer such a pathetic product when everyone else, notably including Kahr, Ruger, Keltec, etc., seem to be able to make their mini-.380s work just fine. I need to get on this.

The 10th Anniversary (that model comes with stainless rod and heavier spring) LCP is my everyday unless activities require the comfort of my 365. With the long DAO feel very comfortable carrying it AIWB in a soft holster - very fast to deploy, and surprisingly accurate, has run flawless. The Hogue pinned grip sleeve is a difference maker.

I believe that you have the 10th Anniversary Edition confused with the LCP Custom. The two are similar in the way that they both share a skeletonized aluminium trigger, but they differ in the way that the LCP Custom has a high polished blued slide, high profile glow sights, and a stainless steel guide rod.

The guide rod on the 10th Anniversary Edition is an ordinary blued guiderod, only the slide is Stainless Steel, and I don't know anything about the recoil spring being any heavier on the 10th Anniversary Edition either.

My wife and I each have a Gen 1. Hers is purple, I think Ruger calls it Raspberry. Kay on went back for recall. A lot of rounds thru each and no problem.

I've just had my second range outing with the .22LR version. It's an absolute sweetie to shoot, and the danged thing is head-shot capable at 20yds with the right hi-vel ammo! Of course, guess which flavor of .22 is in short-supply right now?
