Just picked up a nib M48-7 "classic" 4" unfortunately I believe there's an issue out of the gate. Wobbling of the extractor rod is immediately noticeable when spun, rod hangs up at times when pushed back as to extract shells I haven't shot it yet and cylinder is sticky to open. The cylinder gap to the eye looks consistenly the same and with hammer pulled back cylinder rotates without hangup. I'm not comfortable doing repairs myself so I do believe gun needs to return home to get corrected a shame to send out a new gun I have a 66 at Smith now 3 months already so I'm sure its gonna be gone for sometime. Thanks I appreciate any help or advice on this. DNJ6... Serial number.

It's usually a pretty simple task to straighten an extractor rod with the right tool which allows straightening the rod while torqued to the extractor. Maybe check to see if there is a gunsmith in your area that could do it for a minimal cost and eliminate the need to wait months for the factory to do the job.

Unfortunately none that I'm aware of a guy I used to go too seems to be getting out of the business and was more of a pistolsmith then revolver guy.

Called today it is headed back to Smith tomorrow for them to check out. Customer service said revolver left there October 2020.

It's coming back tomorrow CS said they replaced the yoke and locking lugs when I called today. Looking forward to using it for the first time.
