I just received a copy of Defense Express, apparently an English language Ukrainian defense publication. I had not seen it previously, and it makes interesting reading. The linked attachment concerns Russian casualty information. Given its source, the information may be of questionable accuracy, 930 Days of russia-Ukraine War – russian Casualties In Ukraine | Defense Express Lots of Ukranian military weapons information in addition to the casualty data.

I didn't take time to read the whole thing. However early in our Vietnam war of attrition, we counted a found weapon or a 6" or larger puddle of blood as a enemy kill (at least until the Tet offensive)! So automatically I think the number is inflated, but by how much?

Two times is over 300,000
Three times is over 200,000
Six times is over 100,000
10 times is over 60,000

I'm willing to bet between 6 and 10 times, makes for alot of dead Russians!

With the huge number of flat out kill videos on Twitter and elsewhere lead me to think between 2 and 3 times.

With regard to your Tet numbers, remember that your threshold was likely driven by the 'sortie rate' mentality of McNamara.

Given that Ukraine and Russia both conceal the true extent of their casualties, I look at the other military analytics like war translator, Perun, Georgius, and even Russians like Konstantin Samoilov and The Russian Dude. Generally accepted numbers put Russian non-effectives (KIA, WIA, MIA, and POW) at over the 630,000. Ukraine, being a little more open in regards to sourcing information, seems to be around 80,000 KIA but close to 400,000 WIA, MIA, and POW. I'm following this pretty closely, being Ukrainian Canadian and ex military, and I have non media sources of my own that lead me to believe these numbers to be within an acceptable margin of error. What really torques me, and distresses me, is the number of normally good sane people who have swallowed the Kremlin garbage because it came from a source they liked or trusted but didn't bother to check other sources. At the end of the day, people will believe what they wish to believe and with some, no amount of evidence, logic, data, or discussion will change their minds. I ran into this discussing firearms legislation with anti-gun people.
