I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing. Like he said, they are seasoned special forces soldiers not new recruits.some of those guys look like they have both Chechen wars under their belt. Besides it takes a lot of practice to get to that level

Russians and other eastern Euro sorts are more openly "macho" than in most Western nations. There is a reason why Putin struts around bare-chested in many publicity photos. That looks absurd here. Russians probably admire it.
I wouldn't be surprised if these guys smoke cigarettes to look manly. Their training reflects that.
Firing warning shots into the ground can easliy cause injuries or deaths from ricochets. Where life is cheap. they care less about that.
