I mean, they take Dillon Gabriel in the 3rd round, then take Sanders in the fifth? I'm not sure I can make that make sense.

Nothing has made sense since they came back. Now we in Cleveland are hearing nightly about the new stadium being built away from the lake front by the airport. That's because mayor Bibbs of Cle was too busy giving money away to people and didn't see the stadium situation coming. Had a 2 year quarterback problem, and 2 complete years with only 1 game won. Actually wish they would move the team again so we can get some peace around here, Larry

The Sanders signing is a lottery ticket. If he plays up to his potential, he's either a solid backup or a starter. If not, it's a 5th round pick. Whether he's worth the circus that comes with him…well, better in Cleveland than my Vikings, who had a distinctly ho-hum draft.

They're just trying to fill the gap until Dashaun Watson comes back and in case Joe Flacco tears a hamstring . . .
The Browns are doing Browns things. They only good move they've made in the last decade was stealing Wyatt Teller from the Bills.
IMO Watson is a bust and has to be one of the all time dumbest contracts - in any sport! Flacco is short term. Sanders and Gabriel can duke it out. Seahawks fan so no dog in this hunt.
Nobody wants the Sander's Circus; you draft the caustic kid, you get the insufferable old man as a bonus. A huge distraction to the mission.
With the number of QB's now on the Brown's roster I suppose they might be getting ready to unveil a revolutionary new offensive set, a variation on the defensive "nickelback" where they deploy 5 quarterbacks in the backfield and confuse the defense into wondering which one will get the snap.

I don't think it is fair to ask anyone if they know what the Browns are doing when the Browns have NO IDEA what they are doing.
The owner pretty much owned up to that. Of course, he doesn't have to worry about losing his job. It will be interesting at Lloyd's of London when they have to pay out on the policy the Browns took out on Watson's contract.
I think Watson has taken his last snap in the NFL..
It's a good excuse [not that I need one] to get together with a couple buds who follow the NFL and drink some beers, eat some good food, and see who goes where.
