I talked to Rustyt1953 this afternoon, and he had what he described as a flood of Cecil B. DeMille proportions in his neighborhood on Sunday. They got five inches of rain in less than an hour. Water was shooting six feet in the air from storm drains, and his basement was flooded with several feet of water and raw sewage.

They lost their water heater, washer and freezer, plus clothing, pictures, memorabilia--the lot. They were quite literally in deep doodoo.

He and Ruthie and the grandkids are bearing up and taking cold showers, but he would greatly appreciate your prayers and encouragement. He wanted you to know that he hasn't been posting here because--well, you can guess.

I told him we'd be pulling for him, and reminded him how great you guys are about giving moral support.

Thanks much for the news, Mike. Rusty, whenever you are able to read this, just know we're pulling for you and putting up prayers for all of your family. You've had a tough year for sure, and this latest news is hard to hear. If there's anything we can do...you know to just ask....

I'm guessing Rusty lives in Norwood, or close by. the reports on the local media (never too dependable) have it that they got a once in 100 year rainfall. Depending on just where, it was at least 5" in a short time. We were outside at a Jeep race, and we got a big downpour, but probably only an inch or so. That means his drenching was maybe 5 times as bad.

The water had no place to go, so it just pooled. That high school had it 3 or 4 feet deep in their cafeteria. The kids got out for a couple of days with most showing up to help with the clean up.

I hope he keeps his guns upstairs.

It's OK. Turns out it was just beer!! Rusty is in the process of syphoning

Prayers sent for Rusty 1953 & his neighbors. Stay Safe.

Please God. Send that extra water to Montana, where we could use it to fight our forest fires. Visibility was down to nil the last few days in the Clark Fork Valley due to the smoke. Luckily few homes have been involved so far, only valuable timber.
