I've seen the majority of S&W's 10mm mags with white followers but have recently seen online some with black, yellow or orange followers. Does this mean anything or are they all the same? Are they more than likely just mislabeled or visually misrepresented?

Also, I've heard mentioned of a high-cap 15? round 10mm mag. Do they exist or are they as elusive as the great white whale, Moby Dick, himself? Or 1066's and 1026's for that matter. Pics in and out of gun for proof would be appreciated.

The 1000 Series (10mm) magazine followers only came in two colors. The earliest ones were yellow, followed by the current white followers.

Black and orange are two of the colors used (among others) for 4500 Series (.45 ACP) magazine followers. I believe the black followers are current issue.

FBI agents, besides the standard 9-round mags, were issued both 11-rd and 15-rd magazines for their issued 1076 magazines. These "hi-cap" mags are very rare and I've personally never seen one for sale.

LadyFed posted a thread awhile back with photos related to her FBI-issued 1076 including one of the 15-rd mags----> http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-...32-fbi-1076-added-info-multiple-pictures.html

Not sure what your "Or 1066's and 1026's for that matter" statement is about. Did you have a question about these two models?

Thanks XTrooper--exactly the info I needed.

The comment about the 1026 was to relate the rarity of the 15rnd mags to the impossible to find 1026 (which is the ideal S&W 10mm I want to acquire when I get back stateside but still haven't even seen one being sold/auctioned online in two months of browsing).

Glad I could help, Walking Stick. ;)

The 1026 is scarce (a total of 3135 were produced), but they do come up for sale once in awhile. Keep checking the gun auction/sales sites. I checked weekly till I snagged mine. :)
