The trigger frequently fails to reset when using Aguila ammo. It ejects the previous round and feeds the next round with no problem. I have thoroughly inspected, cleaned and lubed everything. Today, it failed 5 out of 25 rounds with Aguila Super Extra 40gr 1255 fps copper plated round nose. I had no failures with CCI MiniMag 36 gr 1260 fps copper plated hollow points.

I have better consistency with the MiniMags too. My Aguila group was about 3 inches and the CCI group was about 1 inch, shooting at 25 yards, seated with a bipod.

More details, please. Describe what you mean by trigger not resetting. Is the hammer following the bolt, not being cocked at all, or is it staying cocked, possibly stuck on the disconnector?

My experience with Aguila and the 15-22 is mixed at best. Some batches work fairly well. Some area weak and inconsistent such as you experienced.

The only rimfire I will buy nowadays is CCI, Even their cheapo Blazer works well for me when other brands fail. Federal and Remington are inconsistent, Winchester & Armscor are just plain bad. In my experience, that is.

That’s odd, I have had no problems with Aguila. It’s not as hot as MiniMags but should still operate the action. My 15-22’s run like a top on CCI SV, definitely not as hot as even lower power HV ammo. I would look at the recoil spring and guide for problems and be sure the bolt has some lube where it rides on the guide rails.

My experience as well.

OP, I wish you were close by, I would loan you a CMC trigger to drop in. That would eliminate one variable.
If you are planning to keep the rifle and shoot it, a CMC or Palmetto’s knockoff is a very good investment. Either one is around $100 on their daily deals.
