I just picked up a 17-2 with the 10 shot aluminum cylinder. $400 OTD. It has holes drilled and tapped under the rear sight that I can see from the cylinder side . What do I need to mount a small scope, red dot sight to it? Does someone make a tact rail specifically for the S&W revolvers? Thanks, rj

Give S&W a call. I think that gun came drilled and tapped. If so, smith&wesson can provide a base for it that uses weaver-style rings.

I picked a Weaver mount up for my 617 from my local gun shop. It was in aluminum, and cost a little over $7.
