Looking to put a scope /red dot on my pistol and want to know what others have and like. Mainly for target shooting. I have a tack rail to replace the iron sights with. Thanks, rj

For a red dot I have and like the Ultradot. It is very light and compact compared to others and finds much favor among the serious target shooting crowd. Plus, batteries seem to last a long time.
If you want an optical scope I've always had good performance from Burris. Most of my hunting hanguns have Burris, including 2x on a T/C 12" Hunter in 45-70 that was on a Redhawk 7.5" .44 Mag before that, and has endured over 1500 shots from those, an extreme test of durability. For both of us
Those of us who are happy with the weight of the revolvers "as issued" tend to favor Red Dots over scopes for target shooting. They are less bulky and weigh much less.
I have both and for target shooting I am using Red Dots - they seem to be easier to see in a variety of lighting conditions.
I've been using Red Dot's on my RF's for quite a few years now, and from what I read I would like to try the new Burris Fast Fire red dot. It is much smaller and it's a Head's up type display rather than a tube.
i have a redfield 2,5 on a 7 tcu
but i prefer red dot ,before i have put on a old aimpoint 3000, change now for a ultra dot
used only for shooting steel plate at range
