S&W 18-2

Picked up a model 18-2 the other day for a Fair price. the serial no.s on the grip and frame match but not the crain on the cylinder. Is it suposed to or is that numbered dif from the factory? Seems that it should but I dont know so asking you pros.

You may be looking at an assembly number in the crane area. It is unrelated to the serial number.

That sounds good. I would like to think its all original! No box or papers but the gun is in pretty good shape. Thanks
