I have a Smith & Wesson 1911, bought new in 2004; does anyone know who made/makes the barrels for Smith's 1911s? I seem to recall reading that Smith sub-contracted for barrels on their early 1911s; is this correct, and if so, is this still true, or does Smith now manufacture their own barrels? Also...one or two piece? Any information that you can give will be greatly appreciated,
