S&W 1911 - firing pin safety?

I may be in the market soon for a new 1911, and was wondering whether the S&W 1911 contains a firing pin safety, or whether it is of the "old school" 1911 design?

Also, does anyone know of any other 1911's that are still made without a firing pin safety mechanism? Preferably made in the USA, as I am trying to support the US gun industry if I can.

I believe they all have the "schwartz" safety. I believe all S&W are MADE IN USA. The new ones are made in my home state of Maine, in Houlton.

The only ones I've seen with the firing pin safety linked to the trigger are the Colts' and Paras'. All the others I've seen are connected to the grip safety and have no effect on trigger pull. Springfield Armory, STI, SVI, Les Baer don't use the F/P safety.
