Looking at getting a standard S&W 1911 and have seen it advertised/pictured with both blue and stainless magazines. What mags would normally come with the gun?

My S&W 1911 came with blued mags, made by ACT in Italy. Seem to be polished. Great mags, never had a problem and slide right out with aplomb every time I hit the mag release.

I always assumed blued guns came with blued magazines and stainless guns came with stainless ones. Shows you what I know!

Thanks for the replies. I guess it's a toss up...I'd normally prefer stainless but I don't think it's worth paying more for the gun just to have the stainless mags.

I have three S&W 1911s - a 5" stainless steel PC1911 (the model with a slotted slide) in .45ACP, a 5" stainless steel PC1911-2 Doug Koenig edition in .38 Super and a two-tone E-Series 1911Sc in .45ACP. The first one was made in 2013, the second in 1989 and the third in 2014 and all three came with stainless magazines. I guess all that probably proves is there is no pattern to which magazine you might get.

There are a few of these guns NIB on Gunbroker in the $750-$800 price range, some with stainless mags, some blued, so I'm just gonna get whichever one I can get the best deal on after shipping is added regardless of which mags it comes with. Sounds like both are good quality. If I can get one shipped up here for under $800 I think that might be a decent deal.
