I've been looking at this Doug Koenig designed 1911 and was wondering if anyone had anything good or bad to say about it. It is currently "out-of-reach" so I could use some helpful experiences to guide me in the best direction to or from this interest. It sure looks interesting enough. Thanks, Mike

Do a search, there are a number of threads the same as yours.

I like mine, a lot!

I currently have the DK in 45 and like it a bunch. It's the two-tone, I'm a sucker for two-tone, and the gun not only looks great, but shoots well too.

I have put close to 1K through the pipe so far without a glitch. I have heard of a couple folks having magazine issues, but not me. I did buy a couple extra after markets McCormick's for it and they work flawlessly as well.

Recently bought a 22 conversion for it too. Didn't realize it was a series 80 though so I hadda have a smith mill out a small part of the conversion slide in order for it to fit. (It was an old slide that fit a series 70 without issue.)

Personally, I would recommend this gun to anyone interested in it.
