I have one each- a brushed nickel 2213 and a blued 2214. I get great delight from shooting them, and even use them as carry guns sometimes.

The problem is both of my adult kids lust after mine. I would buy them each one, but I attend about 4-6 gun shows a year, and I have only seen these two over the last 15-20 years. Are they that scarce?

Does anyone know the number manufactured? I know they were discontinued in the 80's.

Least you think I only play with toys, I also have a 1950's K-22, and a M-41 as well as a 1917 .45ACP.

I've been looking for one myself, I don't have high hopes of coming across one. I haven't even SEEN one in years, much less found one in a shop.

Your only real hope is to haunt pawn shops like I do or pay thru the nose on Gunbroker.

Same here. I've been watching GB and GunsAmerica for the past several months and most are going for $260-$350+ (plus shipping and FFL transfer fee...). Too rich for me. But, as luck would have it (must've been someone else's good luck that got mixed up with my no luck, I found one at, of all places, Gander Mtn. for $180!! A 2213 in excellent shape, with an extra mag, manual, holster and S&W soft case. Christmas came early for me this year! Keep looking CW, and when you least expect it, one will pop up. They're not rare, but most don't want to part with theirs. From what I've read they were manufactured between '91 and '99.

p.s. It was traded in on 12/6 and I just bought it yesterday. Another guy had been looking at it day before, but didn't buy.
