S-W 22A sights ?

Just wondering what kinda of sights everyone would recomend on the 22A stock Iron or red-dot or a scope. I will mostly be using this gun to shoot targets and small game hunting.

Hello v_dub1968:

I am devoted to iron sights so I left my sights alone on my S&W 22 S-1. Can use it in bullseye competition out to 50yds. I prefer CCI standard velocity for target shooting but for small game you may need high velocity ammo.

(I think I owned a 1967 VW. D---, it was cold in the winter!)

Thanks for the info I also prefer Iron sights. I sure do see alot of red dots but im not for sure if they are for me as I will be hunting also.

I have 8 days until I pick up my 22A, I have a BSA PMRS Scope waiting. BSA is inexpensive and good plinking quality. I have a BSA HMRGBD30CP RGB-dot on my MP-15/22 co-witnessed. I may try it on the 22A.

I like Burris products and have 3-9x40mm Burris scopes for my MP-15/22 and MP-15 Sport. I have plans to buy a Fastfire II for use on the 22A or my shotgun, and a Speeddot for the Sport to mimic the MP-15\22.

I sent my son a red dot sight and a picatinny rail For Christmas ordered from S&W's on line shop. He recieved the sight, but the rail is back ordered. He will use it for indoor target shooting for team and individual competition. Nice little gun, but it's more of a pinker than a competition gun. My son's already trying to get me to donate my Walther GSP to the cause.
